Ward 2
About me
I was raised in St. John’s. I’ve been shaped by its virtues and its griefs, and I believe the only true way to solve its problems is by listening to its people—all of them. My life has been dedicated to listening and helping, from campaigning on behalf of homeless youth, to working in an adult treatment centre, to being a youth counsellor. I have volunteered in both faith-based and secular community groups. In all these activities I have learned the fundamental lesson that neglecting the poor, the marginalized, and the at-risk hurts everybody. We only ever rise together.

I want to bring compassionate pragmatism to the Ward 2 council seat. I have no interest in rhetoric without action, and I have no interest in ideology not grounded in fact. What moves me is what works. I will work with anybody who has the best interests of the city’s people at heart, anybody who approaches the problems of St. John’s in honest good faith. Whether the problem is health, taxes, sustainability, or potholes, I promise to address the issues at hand with honesty and integrity and clear eyes.

I invite you to learn more about me, my personal journey, and how my experience will inform me as a city councillor.
